About the Webinar

Join us to learn about the role of open disclosure in aged care:

  • What is it?
  • Why is it important?
  • What is the Commission doing to support service providers to meet their open disclosure obligations?

Open disclosure provides a meaningful opportunity for providers and workers to partner with older people to remedy situations when things go wrong. More than that, it can help to restore trust and confidence in service delivery and can prevent recurrence.

As we prepare for a greater focus on rights under the new Aged Care Act and the strengthened Quality Standards, we invite service providers and workers to hear about:

  • the importance of open disclosure
  • ways to have open conversations with older people about dignified care.

We will also highlight some of the common challenges in practising open disclosure in the aged care environment and ways to overcome them.

This webinar is for approved aged care providers, workers and older people receiving care, their family and other supporters.

Speakers

  • Janet Anderson PSM, Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner
  • Louise Macleod, Complaints Commissioner, Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission
  • Bill Lyon, Chief Executive Officer, Churches of Christ
  • Donna Hart, Executive Director - Seniors Living, Churches of Christ
