About the Webinar

This is a webinar for approved aged care providers and people receiving aged care and their family, friends, and other supporters.

The webinar will focus on the specific responsibilities of approved providers regarding Consumer Advisory Bodies. Offering to establish this body is now a legal requirement for providers, and Consumer Advisory Bodies are an important component of sound provider governance arrangements that will deliver high-quality care for people using aged care services. Consumer Advisory Bodies offer a structured opportunity for older people to work with their providers to shape the way their care is delivered. In other words, such bodies provide an opportunity for “co-designing” care to deliver a better aged care experience for every older person.

In the course of this webinar, we aim to help older people to understand their right to participate in Consumer Advisory Bodies, reinforce the importance of approved provider responsibilities in relation to good governance, and demonstrate the benefits of establishing and becoming involved in Consumer Advisory Bodies to co-design high-quality care.
