Powering progress: The future of clinical trials
Australians may be missing out on clinical trials. We can change that.
Join us for an exclusive update on clinical trials for mitochondrial disease (mito) in Australia. We will explore the latest developments and discuss how we can work together to increase Australian clinical trials for mito.
We will also introduce Mito Foundation's new clinical trials action plan. This plan is a strategic roadmap towards increasing clinical trial opportunities for mito in Australia. It was developed through consultation with stakeholders across Australia in collaboration with Research Australia.
There is no cure for mito and limited treatment options. This means that clinical trials are often the only way for people with mito to access new treatments.
There are over 70 treatments in development for mito. At least 25 have been tested in clinical trials. However, there have been Australian clinical trial sites for only 3 of these treatments. Without local trials, Australians are missing out on the option to access treatments that are available elsewhere.
Mito Foundation is passionate about changing that. The foundation’s goal is to increase Australian clinical trial opportunities and speed up access to emerging treatments for mito. Mito Foundation is uniquely placed to connect the mito community, researchers, health professionals, and industry partners to achieve this.
Join us to hear from our diverse panel as they discuss:
- current clinical trials for mito and what might be coming soon
- why are some trials not coming to Australia, and what can we do to change this
- how we can work together to shape the future of clinical trials.
You can be a part of bringing more clinical trials to Australia. Join us to find out how we can make it happen together.
