Meet our speakers

Nathan Fabian
Chief Sustainable Systems Officers, PRI

Nathan is Chief Sustainable Systems Officer at the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, an association of over 5000 global investment institutions. He is also Secretary of the Taskforce on Net Zero Policy, which reported on non-state-actor focussed government policies at COP29. Nathan was the Chair of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance that developed the EU Taxonomy and advises the European Commission on sustainable finance regulation. These roles are part of over twenty years in sustainable finance in government policy, investment research and ratings on companies, and the development of investment processes and tools. Nathan was educated in International Relations, Business Administration and Ethics & Leadership.

Jo Kelly
CEO, CSF

Jo is the Chief Executive of the Centre for Sustainable Finance.  She has established successful sustainability leadership organisations in New Zealand and the US. Jo has been a director of B Lab, the non-profit that certifies B Corps, and the NZ Impact Investing Network. Jo spent four years with Deloitte New Zealand following a decade in creative industries.  She is a co-founder and director of a private cancer treatment and trials centre in Auckland.

Nigel Gormly
Director of Programs, CSF

Nigel has held leadership roles across investment, strategic development, commercialisation as well as governance roles, working with companies across diverse industries and all stages of development. This includes leading the international direct investment team for the New Zealand Superannuation Fund and developing innovative finance products for nature-based solutions as Chief Investment Officer for Toha. Nigel has advised numerous companies in New Zealand and overseas on scaling up groundbreaking, first-of-a-kind technologies and creating deep system change by bridging large scale capital to the emerging climate solutions where it is needed most.

Jessica Desmond
Senior Manager – Engagement, CSF

Jessica leads the development of the NZ Taxonomy process for CSF. She is also responsible for CSF’s wider engagement and communications functions. Jessica has spent most of the past two decades leading communications and campaigns across the public and private sectors, both in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally.
